From the South
Leave M6 motorway at Junction 36, turn left onto the A591 and follow this road for approximately 18 miles, until you reach the traffic lights on the outskirts of Ambleside. At the lights, take the left fork and follow this road for approximately 1.5 miles until it becomes a two-lane, one-way street. Remain in the left hand lane and follow the road round. The road then becomes two lanes through Ambleside with the cinema on the left, you need to be in the left hand lane. Turn left at the top and follow this road, over a mini-roundabout, for about a mile and you will see the sign for Crow How on the left hand side of the road on a bend. We are at the bottom of the tarmacked driveway.
From the North
Junction 40, M6 motorway. Follow signs for Keswick, then the B5322 (St. Johns in the Vale) to Thirlmere and Grasmere and then Rydal. Shortly after passing Rydal Water you will see the sign for Crow How on the right hand side of the road. By Public Transport – Windermere is the closest station (5 miles). At Windermere station you can either take the ‘555’ bus heading towards Keswick, or you can take a taxi through to Crow How Country House. Please take note!
Important! We have had issues with guests who have followed their sat nav via our postcode only ending up under Loughrigg Fell along a small side road away from us. We strongly recommend either entering our full address or turning the sat nav off when close to Ambleside and following the above directions. You have been warned! (said in a scary tone)
